I (the Wikipedia page author) just checked this against Oxford Music Online from a university account and the Steve Smith article is still there. According to OMO the material comes from the second edition of the New Grove Dictionary of Jazz. If need be I can pop over to the library, substantiate that the article is in the paper edition, and change the reference. Certainly, if he's made it into a major music encyclopedia, I see no reason why he should not be in this one. Chubbles (talk) 14:09, 2 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
