Places Of Worship[edit]

There numerous places of worship in this district. The most important being the Pancharama Kshetras.

Two of the five famous Pancharama Kshetras are located in this district at Bhimavaram and Palakol.

The Lord Venkateswara Temple at Dwaraka Tirumala is a foremost important temple in this region. It is otherwise called as small Tirupati, attracts pilgrims from various parts of the nation.

The Adinatha Jain Temple located at Peda Amiram near Bhimavaram is a famous temple attracting pilgrims from all over the country.

Shri Shakteswara Swamy temple located at Enamadurru is a famous Shiv temple.

The temples at Juttiki of Lord Shiva and at Natha Rameswaram of Lord Laxmana and at Mallipudi of Lord Janardhana Swamy.

Saraswati mandiram and Gayatridevi temple at Kovvur.

Ambica devi temple at Eluru.

This historic Buddhist site, a hamlet of Guntupalli, dating back to the 3rd century B.C.

The ancient Sri RameswaraSwamy temple is situated in Achanta.

Just about 3 Kms from Narsapur town is the Durga Laxmaneshwara Swamy temple.

Sri Veerabhadra Swamy Temple, Pattiseema, which is picturesquely located on a hill known as Devakuta Parvatha in the middle of the Godavari river.

Sri Adikesava Embermanar Swamy temple, which is a sacred pilgrimage destination for the Vaishnavites. The temple is constructed two centuries ago.It is reminiscent of the style of the renowned Sriperambadur temple in Tamil Nadu.

The holy Sri Vasavi Kanyaka Parameswari temple which finds mention in various ancient religious texts. The holy temple enshrines the august triple deities- Sri Nagareswaraswamy, Mother Kanyakaparameswari and Mahishasuramardini.
