John Rutledge[edit]

Considering that "On March 4, 1791, Rutledge, without ever having had the opportunity to decide a case, resigned from the U.S. Supreme Court in order to become Chief Justice of the South Carolina Court of Common Pleas and Sessions," according to John Rutledge's page, how is it possible that Rutledge could have deliberated on this case? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.135.208.164 (talk) 22:55, 15 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
