Why is this article here? It is almost a word for word copy of the section from the Crispin Glover page. 132.162.39.63 20:56, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Only reference is a dead link[edit]

The only reference cited for this article is a dead link. The text of the reference is as follows: "Glover's 'What Is It?' aptly describes film". The Salt Lake Tribune. July 2005. Retrieved 2007-02-23.

The same dead link is the only reference for Glover's other film (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/It_Is_Fine!_Everything_Is_Fine.) (I'm sorry if there a better way to do that! Although I've technically been on Wikipedia for years, my edits have always been very mild-- mostly removing graffiti and fixing spelling errors. Currently reading up on how to properly contribute.) This may perhaps be indicative of creating pages for self-promotion, or to provide a negative slant on the films due to personal opinions.

I think it would be best to start from scratch, given that the information only linked to one article that cannot be viewed at this time. (Please help me to understand anything that I'm mistaken about!) There is a plethora of sources available for these articles, published by numerous reliable mass media resources, and I'm sure that whatever was true in them can be referenced according to guidelines.

A possible conflict of interest may be present here, since I have interviewed Glover about his films. I'm also a fan of his work. I feel no desire whatsoever to use Wikipedia as a promotional tool for Glover or myself. For one thing, I'm not closely related to the project by any means, or to Glover for that matter. I understand why it would raise eyebrows for a fan to edit a page on a film, particularly if the page was originally written in a primarily negative tone. Neutrality is critical, after all. But my intention is to write a neutral article, and to not include any original research unless I can't find important information elsewhere, after undergoing the standard vetting processes for original research and tentative editors.

Although the trilogy itself (including one upcoming film, "It Is Mine," which has published information on it as well as video footage from talk shows) is notable, I question whether or not they really need three separate articles, or two for that matter. Perhaps they should all be put into one article, "Films Directed by Crispin Glover" or "Crispin Glover's Film Trilogy" or something of that ilk. They're fairly interconnected, and in a way the form in which they're screened is the most notable thing about the films.
