"infinities" as the duration Jason stayed behind[edit]

RunningTiger123 objected to the use of "infinities" to describe the amount of time Jason stayed behind. I changed it back. They messaged me about it on my talk page, where you can read our messages. We at least agree that "infinities" is better than deleting the duration of time, and we agree that merely saying "a long time" does not convey the meaning of the scene. RunningTiger123 was also not keen on my alternative suggestion of explaining a Jeremy Bearimy in a footnote. (Which I was not keen on, myself.) I am putting this message here to make the discussion visible because Jgstokes echoed RunningTiger123's initial concern that "infinities" might not cover the nuance of how long a Jeremy Bearimy is. I reverted because they were under the impression that this had not been discussed between RunningTiger123 and I.

As explained on my talk page, I contend that "infinities" does convey in indistinct length of a Jeremy Bearimy because an infinity may be countable or uncountable, and the article does not specify which. For the benefit of those who don't know, a "Jeremy Bearimy" in the context of the show is the entire length of the afterlife's timeline, which is non-linear and loops back around on itself as you pass through it. If someone has a fifth idea, I remain open to other options, but "infinities" should stay unless and until there is a better suggestion. lethargilistic (talk) 22:07, 1 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
