– This seems to be the main article on the lake. I also don't see a need for the "(Minnesota)" disambiguation, since there is no other White Bear Lakes in Wikipedia. I also would request that White Bear Lake be moved to White Bear Lake (disambiguation) to accommodate this move. Natg 19 (talk) 01:58, 6 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose, I'd say the baseline would be an ambiguity magnet. If the Lake is on the baseline the dab bot won't pick up inevitable mislinks. Is the lake more than all the other entities combined? No evidence. In ictu oculi (talk) 06:35, 6 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. The city is also "White Bear Lake" - it's just disambiguated with ", Minnesota". No evidence on which, if either, might be WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. Dohn joe (talk) 16:08, 6 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. There is also a lake in California called White Bear Lake according to the USGS Geonames database. —Diiscool (talk) 17:12, 6 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support! - there does not appear to be any MOS rules about lakes having the location attached (unlike city, see WP:USPLACE). Additionally, even though the US Geographic Database has White Bear Lake listed as a lake in California, it's a complete speck of a lake! See map here or on Google Maps, showing satellite image and see how small it is relative to a person. An article about it here would probably get deleted for lack of notability. I could barely find any reference to it at all, except as a geographic location. — Wikimandia (talk) 12:42, 8 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
You're missing the point that USPLACE does not replace WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. Lots of US cities have the base name redirect to them because they are the primarytopic (e.g., Juneau, Tallahassee, Arden Hills, etc.). So we still have to account for both the lake and the city in deciding primarytopic issues. Dohn joe (talk) 19:41, 8 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. If anything, the city (White Bear Lake, Minnesota) is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC based on views, so I would rather suggest that the disambiguation page be moved to White Bear Lake (disambiguation), and the base name redirect to White Bear Lake, Minnesota. kennethaw88talk 00:31, 11 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
    I could support that. Dohn joe (talk) 04:15, 11 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
