The result of the move request was: move the page back to Whitecaps FC 2, per the discussion below and as reversion of an undiscussed move per WP:RMTR. Dekimasuよ! 21:28, 8 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2Whitecaps FC 2 – "Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2" is not the club's name. It's "Whitecaps FC 2". --Relisted. Dekimasuよ! 01:41, 3 December 2014 (UTC) F26522 (talk) 06:39, 24 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support The press release and all media support the name "Whitecaps FC 2". Walter Görlitz (talk) 14:48, 24 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose consistency with other sports articles, where other teams also do not have cities as part of their official names, and consistency with Vancouver Whitecaps FC -- 67.70.35.44 (talk) 05:29, 26 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    • Incorrect assumption. Other sports articles are listed by their common name. There was a long discussion about that at LA Galaxy, and that's only the most recent similar discussion. The team has not been called Vancouver Whitecaps FC II or Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2, but simply Whitecaps FC 2. The "Vancouver" is not in the name. Part of the reason is that they are currently working on a deal to be located in a different city, and they don't want to change the name at a future date. They were also interested in being located in New Westminster, but that never materialized. Walter Görlitz (talk) 05:42, 26 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Follow up[edit]

Like wonder if the above rationale is (still) correct. See the conference line up here. I don't know if it's an error, or an intentional change, or we were mistaken to start. But as this is a more recent source (being the announcements tied to the USL renaming) , it does seem that "Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2" is a valid full name for the club, unless it is an error by the USL front office (which isn't inconceivable). oknazevad (talk) 02:12, 18 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Captain[edit]

I strongly recommend that we ignore the irrelevant North-American-centric convention of not decorating the captain. Also, Tyler Rosenlund being the captain is in WFC 2's official news release. Cedric tsan cantonais 16:03, 28 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The senior men's team does not decorate captaincy. There's no need to decorate the reserve team either. Decoration is decoration. If you want that, I suggest you try Ikea or the Pottery Barn. Walter Görlitz (talk) 16:06, 28 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The reference, http://www.whitecapsfc.com/wfc2/wfc2-players, doesn't list who the captain is so it clearly doesn't matter to the club. I'm not sure why it should matter to Wikipedia either. 208.81.212.222 (talk) 17:15, 28 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Since when can IP users vote? — CÉDRIC TSÄN CANTONAIS SAYS NO TO I.P. EDITS! 00:11, 20 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It's WP:NOTAVOTE, it's an opinion.
IPs are no less editors that "editors" like you.
Your rude opinion was already reverted once, I'm not sure why you've insisted on adding it back. Walter Görlitz (talk) 06:42, 20 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
And anon makes a better point than you. Walter Görlitz (talk) 06:43, 20 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
See Wikipedia:5P3: "Wikipedia is free content that anyone can use, edit, and distribute". I am in the class of anyone and so I can edit the article and talk pages unless restrictions are placed on the article and rarely talk pages by an admin due to abuse. I see no abuse here. 208.81.212.222 (talk) 18:25, 21 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Jovan Blagojevic[edit]

The roster lists Jovan Blagojevic as from the country of "Canada" and a "Domestic" player. See http://www.whitecapsfc.com/wfc2/wfc2-players Walter Görlitz (talk) 05:00, 21 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
