Untitled[edit]

Is it true that Adolf Hitler declared that when (if) he captured London, he wanted use Whiteleys as his headquarters? If so I can add this to the article. ~ Dpr 04:22, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I think this is likely an urban legend (see Adolf Hitler talk page). Wyss 00:38, 18 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Boat Race[edit]

I once saw a report that in the early 1930's the University Boat Race was relayed in real-time every year to a huge crowd of people gathered in the street by progressively raising dark and light blue pennants up the flag pole (presumably using John Snagg's radio commentary) - can anyone substantiate this?

William Whitely's murder[edit]

By his illegitimate son Horace Rayner, in his office in the store, surely deserves mention?

1986[edit]

The number who died in 1986 when the crane collapsed is said to be one, in one version. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.98.54.49 (talk) 16:05, 10 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

There might have been two people in the crane. One died and one survived. This is what I heard. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.169.192.50 (talk) 10:01, 9 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This was on 8/1/2010. This was some time after 1986. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.169.192.50 (talk) 10:14, 9 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

2018[edit]

The date the current building will close is apparently the end of the November of 2018. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.169.192.50 (talk) 09:52, 9 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
