Requested move 14 October 2021[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: no consensus. Clearer consensus would most likely emerge in a second WP:RM held, but as it stands this one is hard to follow due to changes which occurred mid-discussion. (non-admin closure)MJLTalk 17:40, 5 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

– only article with this name Jax 0677 (talk) 14:52, 13 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support formal move discussion - I think that a formal move discussion announced on the album page is in order, as the album by Janis Ian is the only article that is actually named "Who Really Cares". --Jax 0677 (talk) 12:59, 14 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

– a move discussion about Who Really Cares (album) was started before the dab page at Who Really Cares was created Jax 0677 (talk) 17:04, 14 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This is a contested technical request (permalink). Sawol (talk) 14:27, 15 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. There is no primary topic, and the album is not particularly notable either: Who Really Cares was almost entirely ignored by the music press upon its release... she is not known to have performed anything from Who Really Cares since 1972, nor has the album ever been represented on any of her career compilations. • Reply - Does not matter, because it is the only actual article with this name. If another article with this name is made, then Who Really Cares should be a DAB page. --Jax 0677 (talk) 01:22, 16 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Not really. We're looking into topics with this name or a very similar one. If the said topic is obscure (like this album, which on tight scrutiny might even fail Afd) and may be easily confused with other things, it's much more reader-friendly to present a dab page at that title. Besides, we're looking at a set of titles whose pageviews are very low and below the level of a statistical error. I'd like to see a clearcut primary topic in such cases, and there is not one here. • Reply - If the article fails AFD, then the DAB page can remain. If the other items are worthy of articles, then those pages should be created. --Jax 0677 (talk) 22:06, 16 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Jax 0677: Are you referring to the fact that one is italicized and the other is not? That's the only difference I can see.VR talk 00:07, 24 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Reply - The song "Who Really Cares (Featuring the Sound of Insanity)" has eight words, and is not called just "Who Really Cares". The album is actually named "Who Really Cares" with only three words. --Jax 0677 (talk) 00:55, 24 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Got it, thanks! VR talk 01:03, 24 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support the move because as Jax stated, this is the only article with that precise title, and the song title as it already is, provides natural disambiguation. A hatnote would suffice. TiggerJay(talk) 15:42, 26 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nom. YttriumShrew (talk) 23:59, 3 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
