PROD[edit]

I started this thinking it was a National Geographic documentary. I just watched an episode. It is 35 minutes of talking head drama and 5 minutes of deliberate, impossible-to-watch shaky-cam. So, this is really just a not-so-reality-show, not even worth watching, in my opinion. So, is it worth an article? Does anyone object to my prodding it? Hi Anna. While the show may have disappointed you, it does attract millions of viewers for each episode, and its popularity continues to grow. The show is about to go into production for a new season. It also has a large Facebook community. Replay videos are available in YouTube and most of several thousand views. I do think it deserves a page, even a basic one. Once you accept the fact that "reality tv" is neither, it becomes just another piece of life. And people should be able to look it up. 4eyes (talk) 03:16, 11 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello 4eyes, and bienvenue. Yes, this article started out getting a dismal 40 visits a day, but it's almost ten times that now.
I think we need a new TV genre called "staged television" or something. I've watched a bit of Pawn Stars, and much of it is obviously contrived and scripted. I didn't know how to watch it. My brain can accept real or fiction, but has trouble when both are merged together. Best, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 03:44, 11 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Merci for the bienvenue. Happy to help out when I can. Re the "reality tv" thing, I am completely the same way. I loathe the new labels, like "docu-fiction". If it's a documentary, then there should be no fictitious elements anywhere, and I shouldn't have to be constantly trying to figure out if it's real or some imaginary re-enactment. Thanks for getting in contact so quickly. Best regards. 4eyes (talk) 04:44, 11 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Top of page summary.[edit]

"They have one or more deck-hands and it's depressing when they lose a fish"

This seems quite flippant and uninformative to me. Perhaps it should be re-written. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.46.72.151 (talk) 13:52, 22 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Indictment of captain[edit]

Press reports today indicate that one of the captains on the show was indicted for allegedly claiming Social Security disability benefits for the time period when he appeared on the show: http://www.burlingtonfreepress.com/story/news/local/2015/07/27/reality-tv-fisherman-indicted-fraud-charges/30746135/. Wicked Tuna Hooked Up[edit]

Can you show how Wicked Tuna Hooked Up fits into the seasons episodes. Are they same as another season exactly or are they episodes that are different to other seasons episodes. Maybe they are made up of other episodes and no more than useless episodes. Maybe they are a pilot season of episodes before season one. I ask having not yet seen them though should be included placed correctly for date order in the seasons episode list.
