Most Olympic medals[edit]

The article says: "Dietrich competed at the 1956, 1960, 1964, 1968 and 1972 Summer Olympics, and won a total of five medals (one gold medal, two silver medals and two bronze medals. This is more than any other Olympic wrestler."

Fun fact: Milo of Croton may have bested him: "Milo was a six time Olympic victor, winning the boys' wrestling (probably in 540 at the 60th Olympiad), and thereafter five men's wrestling titles in five consecutive Olympiads from 536 to 520. He also won seven crowns at the Pythian Games at Delphi (one as a boy), ten at the Isthmian Games, and nine at the Nemean Games. Milo was a five time Periodonikēs, a title bestowed on the winner of all four festivals in the same cycle. Milo's career at the highest level of competition must have spanned 24 years."

Interesting to compare with the ancient Olympic Games. I added "in modern times" to the statement in the article, to avoid confusion. Oceanh (talk) 10:59, 21 March 2009 (UTC).[reply]
