Father and son[edit]

There were two William Barrowbys, the father living to 1758, the son predeceasing him in 1751 (ODNB). The ODNB indicates that the engraving here is of the father. That seems to me questionable: more likely an engraving from 1752 would be of the late son, not to speak of appearance. The National Portrait Gallery[1] has incorrect dates, as did the source for the image. Endemic confusion, therefore. Charles Matthews (talk) 21:32, 20 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
