Why did he have his mothers maiden name? The article mentions his fathers name but he does not have the same last name. Things that make you go hmmmm that we might never know. C. Williams (talk) 11:30, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hid didn't. "nee Scholfield" means that was her maiden name, Davenport is his father's middle name (see the lead where it is William D. Hare). Aboutmovies (talk) 11:42, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Possible, John Davenport (Ohio politician) is William D.'s grandpa, and Homer's dad Timothy could certainly have been from Ohio (age wise maybe John's son). But I haven't seen anything saying so. Aboutmovies (talk) 19:25, 9 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
