Hendrick's spouse[edit]

Actually, I found the article to be rather well detailed & complete, with the exception of the 3rd paragraph under Early Life. Intriguing as it might have been, William (nmi) Hendricks, the father of Willim (nmi) Hendricks, Jr., is not the same as William H. Hendricks, whose son, William H. Hendricks, Jr. married into relatives of the Benge clan of the Cherokee. Curiously enough, Dennis Pennington, mentioned in this article, was married to Elizabeth, who had been captured by the Indians, & was held as a prize by the war chief, Benge, before returning to her own people, but I digress. Suffice it to say, Gov. Hendricks married Ann Parker Paul, daughter of Col. Paul, founder of Madison. Hearing no other discussion, I will hereby submit my edit. OG1820

I checking the sources on the original entry (Hendricks being married to suzanna a cherokee) I have found you are indeed correct. There was a William Hendricks married to a cherokee but he lived in Georgia and was born in NC, clearly indicated he is not the William Hendricks of this topic.
