Inventor of telescopes?

What does this mean? In the history of telescopes article he isn't mentioned once. Correct, he did not invent the telescope but did tinker with and invent his own telescopes. Thus, the sentence is correct as he was an "inventor of telescopes"; if he had been the first creator of a telescope, he would be the "inventor of the telescope". potential edit war[edit]

Not sure why I have become sucked into an edit war, but am posting here to attempt to diffuse it. AM keen to add biographical details as there are none which is a huge omission. Those I've added have been repeatedly reverted - source ref is the ODNB which is about as reliable as it gets (but not always on public access depending on location, so imho important to get basic details onto this more accessible platform). Smaller errors have crept back in too - Cabinet of taste is called magazine of taste in the original text so no idea why that is being reverted. Etc etc. Might I suggest reversion of latest changes, and then revision of any aspects which seem to be opinion and are not backed by citations, as per Wiki guidelines. Reverters issue seems to be around the crisp - could they perhaps not just concentrate on that and not vandalise the whole page? Current article claims WK invented the potato crisp but cites no evidence (primary sources - not usually liked on wiki - quite clear this is erroneous, despite several tabloid articles which are really not reliable sources).
