I have elaborated on his military posts and reference to service in First World War, cited to Kelly's Handbook (1934) by stating he was honorary colonel of 5th volunteer battalion South Staffordshire Regiment and of a train of the Royal Army Service Corps within territorial army for periods that included the war. He was not an active service (or mobilised) officer and he does not appear in the list of peers and sons of peers who served in the then known as "Great War", although three sons are listed, in "The Complete Peerage", Volume VIII, Appendix F (published in his lifetime, 1932).Cloptonson (talk) 19:03, 10 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
