Lowfreeze[edit]

yes this is correct.... I worked for them from the mid 80's to their final demise in 94.

Galbraith[edit]

Didn't they take over the Galbraith chain which had shops in Kintyre? --jmb 21:03, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I worked for Willie Lows in the late seventies and distinctly remember working in several branches - Helensburgh,Oban, Wishaw, Motherwell and somewhere I don't see listed anywhere - Newton Mearnes. Dates conundrum[edit]

I've posted an external link to a rare image showing a William Low shop in the Victorian period. Shame I couldn't place it on the page because of copyright restriction. This photograph was taken by Thomas Keith who, according to Capital Collections who own the image, was active as a photographer between 1855 and 1857. It certainly looks as if it was taken that early. Yet the article has the company founded in 1868 and William joining the firm in 1870 - clearly a mismatch of dates. Perhaps someone can shed light on the reason for this discrepancy? Kim Traynor | Talk 18:16, 14 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
