Rob Thomas English Lessons[edit]

Is there a source on this? I find it hard to believe. He is not only from venezuela hes also Colombian-American...[edit]

He is Venezuelan and colombian!

I note at the bottom of the article there's a statement that "Many unofficial sources (i.e. blogs, pages that rely upon Wikipedia for their info, etc.) state that Valderama is of mixed Venuzelan and Colombian descent; while not unlikely, this is unverified". Reply; he appeared once in MTV's Los Premios saying that he was proud to be half Colombian and half Venezuelan, giving an award to somebody. Topher Grace?[edit]

It says that he is still close friends with Topher Grace. Now I hope this is true. However, it is well known that Grace wasn't really close close with most of the cast members of That 70's show except Laura Prepon. Where is the source that Wilmer and Topher are still friends? Howard Stern Radio Show[edit]

Every time someone adds something that he said on the Howard Stern show, which he claims is absolutely true, it gets deleted because its "gossip." Someone needs to put up on the site what he said about his relationships on this article. I'm afraid if I do it someone will delete it again because its "gossip." It doesn't matter whether the information is true or not; the question is whether it is encyclopedic. Whether Joe Blow had sex with Suzie Q is unlikely to be encyclopedic. The man is a notable for his relationships with many famous movie stars. There are numerous articles attesting to this fact. That Wikipedia would suppress this well-known aspect of Valderrama's life seems to be a prudish tendency that ultimately interferes with communicating an important aspect of the subject's history.

Proposing an Activism section[edit]

There is a lot of well-sourced information about Valderrama's activism and volunteer work that is not mentioned in the article. Most notably, Valderrama is one of the World Ambassadors for the USO. This type of information is included in most celebrity articles. I would like to propose that a sentence similar to the following be added to the end of the opening section.

"In addition to his acting career, Valderrama tours extensively as Global Ambassador for the USO[1][2], works with the voting rights organization Voto Latino[3][4], and co-founded the non-profit Harness[5]."

I'd also like to suggest the inclusion of an Activism subsection in the Career section. I think it would make the most sense just below the Television and Film Career subsection. I've included a draft below as a starting point.

Activism and Philanthropy[edit]

USO[edit]

Since 2007, Valderrama has taken part in multiple tours on behalf of the United Service Organizations.[6] The tours included more than 46 performances[7][8] and hosting appearances[9] in locations including Bagram air base in Afghanistan[10], as well as Iraq, Germany, Poland, South Korea, and Bahrain. In 2021, Valderrama was named a USO Global Ambassador along with singer Kellie Pickler.[11][12]

Harness[edit]

In 2017, Valderrama co-founded Harness with America Ferrera and Ryan Piers Williams,[13] with the stated goal of improving representation in historically marginalized communities[14][15]. The non-profit's Be Counted campaign[16] encourages the Latinx community to fill out and return U.S. census forms.[17]

Voto Latino[edit]

Valderrama has worked with the voting rights non-profit Voto Latino since the organization was formed in 2004.[18][19] The organization promotes increased voter participation and conducts voter registration drives at cultural events.[20] Valderrama currently serves on the organizations impact council.[21]

Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute[edit]

Between 2009 and 2012, Valderrama served as the spokesperson for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute's Ready to Lead program.[22][23]

Essential Voices Podcast[edit]

In July 2021, Valderrama launched the Essential Voices Podcast on IHeartRadio[24], a podcasts that highlights the experiences of essential workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.[25]
