Since this article would benefit from some discussion, let's use its Talkpage and try to work things out here. Let me get the ball rolling by pointing out a couple of positive things:

  1. Wizzler2 has put a lot of work into this article, and made a very good start given little WP experience.
  2. Omicronpersei8 is honestly trying to improve the article. Without Omi's help WSN could easily get nom'd for deletion.

It will help a lot to discuss and explain things on this Talkpage since edit summaries can seem rather abrupt. It would also help to skim through WP:MOS in addition to WP:WEB and WP:VAIN. That's the Doc's prescription :) --Doc Tropics Message in a bottle 04:07, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have no quarrel with Wizzler2, nor do I doubt that his or her edits are in good faith. I did some Googling before I began editing, and if I am simply to go by search engine results, the site does have some popularity. However, the page has been continually filled with forms of advertising and unwarranted biographical information. I am not blaming Wizzler2 for this, but judging by his or her criticism of my edits, he or she seems disinterested in being filled in on the rules of notability or vanity. If I wanted to destroy the page, I'd {{prod}} it or something similar, not try to streamline it.
I hope we can end this dispute amicably, and without risking the article's deletion. -- Omicronpersei8 (talk) 04:19, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Constructive Criticism[edit]

While the article as a whole is well-written, we strive for encyclopedic content. This means that it should be written in neutral language trying to avoid hype, and certainly no ads. Also, per WP:BIO, it's best to avoid writing about yourself or a close friend. When this comes up it's generally better to let another editor write that section. Finally, I really think a stronger assertion of notability in the opening paragraph would help a lot. The mention of "high traffic" is a good start; is it possible to either expand on that or add a citation for it? These are just my thoughts, remember that free advice is worth exactly what you pay for it :) --Doc Tropics Message in a bottle 04:53, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Gguide.jpg[edit]

Image:Gguide.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Merge Wisconsin Sports Minute[edit]

The Wisconsin Sports Minute appears to be affiliated with Wisconsin Sports Network after looking at the sources. The currently cited sources do not establish notability (wissports.sportngin.com is just the Wisconsin Sports Network) and I couldn't find any other sources for notability. The program probably isn't even active anymore. Merging seems like the best option. Helpful Raccoon (talk) 02:51, 14 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
