wikt:don't take any wooden nickels[edit]

The expression predates the 1930s and so has no connection with the 1930s phenomenon. It seems to be a variant on an older expression involving wikt:wooden nutmeg. DCDuring (talk) 22:44, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
