Systems?[edit]

Nowhere does the article mention the systems this tool was released on. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.253.186.82 (talk) 06:21, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

know of any actual archive[edit]

Anyone know of any actual archive sof old world builder games? There were a lot, and some were quite famous.

Ray Dunakin's maze page has some of the best World Builder games ever made, and you can use Internet Archive with Jeff Waller and since the world games were in hqx format (a type of 7-bit text format that didn't get mangled when it went through other OSes) they have been archived as well.--BruceGrubb (talk) 18:57, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notability[edit]

As far as "notable" is concerned remember we are talking about the Macintosh computer which in 1986 didn't have that much of a marketshare and few publications dedicated to the software that ran on it.--BruceGrubb (talk) 18:57, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • There are mentions in credible publications, and World Builder was used to create notable games. I believe the notability criteria (for software) are met. Any comments? Arru (talk) 10:46, 13 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Since this article does not cover a product that's currently (or will ever be) for sale, it can hardly be labeled "advertisement". World builder doubled as a game deb environment and game engine, one of the earliest for "point and click" if not the very first. That's its notability as far as I'm concerned. Also agree with BruceGrubb's point above. Arru (talk) 23:08, 12 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Another of same name[edit]

There's another software that goes by this name : WorldBuilder. TulipVorlax (talk) 17:07, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, this is not the same name as the Mac program was "World Builder" (two words) while the program you are talking about is WorldBuilder (one word). That said there are many programs that have "World Builder" tools that are called "World Builder" (two words)--BruceGrubb (talk) 20:17, 17 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Modern Alternatives[edit]

Would it be worth mentioning that there are modern open source/free versions of the same concept?

I'm thinking of programs like ENIGMA, Superpowers, Godot Engine and the like.--2606:A000:7D44:100:6CFA:9087:C404:1AE5 (talk) 19:03, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
