Article name

I'm not overly familiar with Lengyel or the Twitch / esports scenes, which is part of why this isn't an outright move request, but the titles of most of the sources and the article itself tend to refer him as 'xQc'. I believe the article was originally created under that name -- would I be right in saying xQc would be the common name here? – The Millionth One (talk) (contribs) 18:16, 9 July 2018 (UTC)

I agree, and have moved the page. His username is used way more often than his real one and other eSport gamers are also known under their proffesional names, e.g. Faker and Geguri. ZeR0101MiNt (talk) 21:16, 12 July 2018 (UTC)

Long term vandalism

This article appears to have been the target of some fairly aggressive and long term vandalism. While I have protected the page, I would encourage someone familiar with the article and its subject to take a hard look at the editing history in order to root out any vandalism that may have slipped through. This may require reverting the article back a ways. -Ad Orientem (talk) 03:01, 17 December 2018 (UTC)

Change "Los Angeles Gladiators" to Gladiators Legion, as Lengyel plays for the Gladiators' academy/contenders team rather than on their main roster. XFabeGabe (talk) 05:41, 13 February 2019 (UTC)

I have properly updated the page with a reliable source. As XFabeGabe stated, the page was incorrect (and the incorrect information wasn't sourced). ~Cheers, TenTonParasol 06:38, 13 February 2019 (UTC)

add that he is mostly a just chatting streamer

I saw that he has the most streaming time in just chatting Maybe also add that he streams a variety of games after his intro (his intro is reacting to content on youtube and reddit) Ckkfz (talk) 21:03, 5 October 2019 (UTC)

Change:

"His main and longest streamed category on Twitch is "Just Chatting", nearly every stream includes it. While being in the "Just Chatting" category, he reacts to fan made content and videos, but not limited to. His reactions established its own series on his YouTube channel, called "xQc reacts"."

To:

"A popular part of his stream is in the "Just Chatting" category, where he reacts to fan made content and videos, but not limited to. His reactions established its own series on his YouTube channel, called "xQc reacts".

Sources:

I think this wording would be less misleading as "Just Chatting" is only around 20% of the content of his stream currently (Last 30 Days: https://twitchtracker.com/xqcow/games) and 11% overall (All Time: https://twitchtracker.com/xqcow/games). "His main and longest streamed category on Twitch is "Just Chatting"" is also not accurate. If you check Stream Time Distribution on Twitch Tracker for hours in each category (https://twitchtracker.com/xqcow/games) it shows he has 4,743 hrs on Overwatch and 1,145 hrs on Just Chatting with the other 38.6% being a variety of games.  Not done "French/Canadian" suggests something completely different from "French-Canadian". It suggests he's a French AND Canadian national, when he isn't. ~Cheers, TenTonParasol 03:24, 11 April 2020 (UTC)

Title Change

Is there a reason why the article title is xQc and not xQcOW (his official Twitch username)? I feel like xQc is his shorthand name. ChipotleHater (talk) 15:40, 25 January 2021 (UTC)

the "OW" in xQcOW refers to "Overwatch", a common convention in Overwatch streamer social media handles—such as in Gamsu's "GamsuOW", Jake's "JakeOW", Profit's "ProfitOW"—and professionally, he went by xQc. This is evidenced by how he's referred to throughout the references in the article and how he was called in-game during Overwatch tournaments. ~Cheers, TenTonParasol 15:53, 25 January 2021 (UTC)
Ah, understood. ChipotleHater (talk) 16:43, 25 January 2021 (UTC)

French Canadian

Does French Canadian need to be specified in the lead? If he is just a Canadian citizen, he is no different than other Quebecois people who are merely Canadians, French Canadian is more of a linguistic and later cultural identification. ChrisTakey (talk) 00:56, 25 July 2020 (UTC)

He is often described in sources as "French Canadian", and his French accent is quite notable. Prinsgezinde (talk) 00:31, 8 April 2021 (UTC)

Regarding his catchphrase Suggestion

Is there a reliable source that his catchphrase is "Go agane" so that it could be cited? LucasA04 (talk) 22:29, 27 April 2021 (UTC)

Gambling

There was a lot of discussion after xQc's gambling stream and talk about responsible gambling and how he gambled in front of kids without age gating. Maybe add it under controversies? https://www.bigwinboard.com/twitch-gamer-xqc-gambling-receives-backlash Samsam85 (talk) 13:23, 26 April 2021 (CET)

I'm pretty sure his channel is age gated. That article mentioned other streamers doing it while not being age-gated, but doesn't say xQc was. Anyways there is "a lot of discussion" on almost anything some of these bigger streamers do, especially if we are talking about niche gaming news sites like Dextero, or in the case of the link you posted, an online gambling new site. This one doesn't seem to be anything more notable than the average xQc story of the week they usually decide to cover. WikiVirusC(talk) 12:19, 26 April 2021 (UTC)
It was not age gated. Twitch does not have age gating, hence why the UK Gambling Commission does not allow UK streamers to stream casino on Twitch while it's allowed on Youtube which has real age gating. I'd say it's pretty controversial to be a video gamer with a massive followed base made up of young adults and kids and then suddenly turn to gambling. Also, promoting gambling on an unlicensed casino know to even let kids gamble is also highly controversial. Samsam85 (talk) 22:36, 16 May 2021 (CET)
Even if everything you say is correct, this "gambling controversy" isn't really that notable, unlike his twitch bans, and his Overwatch suspension. If you are able to find more news sites covering the issue of him gambling on stream, then you can add it. LucasA04 (talk) 02:15, 17 May 2021 (UTC)
Maybe you are right, but there was also a huge discussion on Reddit about it with over 1.1k comments (which is where I also found the article posted here) https://www.reddit.com/r/LivestreamFail/comments/my4xke/xqc_justifies_his_sponsored_gambling_stream Samsam85 (talk) 12:47, May 29 2021 (CET)
Samsam85, If we go by your logic here, most posts about him on LSF have upwards of 1k comments as shown here. Even if it had 10k comments, it still does not make it a "big controversy." This isn't something worth adding under controversy. LucasA04 (talk) 17:16, 14 June 2021 (UTC)

I feel convinced it will be as word is starting to spreading. Quite a lot of discussions going on. Gaming website Kotaku also picked up the story now https://kotaku.com/top-twitch-streamers-fight-over-sketchy-gambling-stream-1847186269 Samsam85 (talk) 12:47, June 29 2021 (CET) — Preceding undated comment added 12:24, 29 June 2021 (UTC)

xQc should only be said as in the part of the description where it says “or referred as xQcOW” xQc has changed his name and it should only say the name xQc. 49.185.82.8 (talk) 10:41, 23 May 2022 (UTC)

Including "ShitCamp" in image caption

I will also be putting this discussion on Ludwig Ahgren's talk page.

I once put the name of the event, ShitCamp, in the image caption, but it was removed shortly after. I was hoping to keep it included since it's a significant event per these cited sources,[1][2][3] but now I'm starting to consider WP:VULGAR along with it. L33tm4n (talk) 17:42, 19 July 2022 (UTC)

Birthdate sources

Along with the image caption issue, I also added Lengyel's birthdate; along with it, I added two sources.[1][2] I know the message wanted a third-party source, so I added one along with Lengyel's tweet, but I don't know if it's generally considered reliable. I also know that Lengyel is a G Fuel partner, so that's why I used it. L33tm4n (talk) 18:03, 19 July 2022 (UTC)

Felix Lengyel isn’t a French name, it’s Hungarian.

The article starts with stating that his named should be pronounced in French. 2001:4C4E:1C01:8100:4935:47C1:177B:5ED2 (talk) 11:28, 28 December 2023 (UTC)
