Xar isn't just that anymore[edit]
OpenDarwin has created the free eXtensible ARchiver program and archive format. The file extension .xar can now refer to a (usually compressed) file archive similar to tar. Default compression is via gzip. I don't know enough about it to write a stub, so I'm leaving the info here. -Matt 20:02, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
