Please be more specific (ie, provide evidence).--Robbstrd 21:07, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to have never gotten back to this, wasn't watching the page. Alan Garner wrote a book called The Weirdstone of Brisingamen. In that book (and its followup) there were goblinesque villains called xvart. They were subterranean, small, and foul--indistinguishable from the D&D incarnation. The book has a wiki article, linked above, though xvart are not mentioned in it. But they play prominently in the book, when the heroes escape a mine or cave complex. Been a while since I read it. The point: the creatures existed in a novel written in the 60s. Only evidence I can quickly find (other than scanning pages from my old paperback) is: http://everything2.com/e2node/Xvart. I personally think Garner should be given attribution in the article. I won't change the article, out of deference to its author. PS it's a good book Pcrh (talk) 19:45, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism[edit]

Someone thought it would be funny to blank this page and redirect it to one with no information on the topic. I undid the vandalism, and cleaned up the article a bit. Night1stalker (talk) 13:09, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
