Name[edit]

Why does this article include a foreign-language Slovak spelling of the name of this Canadian-born American? Why not the Swedish spelling as well? Or Japanese? Gene Nygaard 21:51, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've since removed it. GoodDay 22:18, 13 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nationality?[edit]

The nationality in the infobox says he has nationality in Canada and United States when he was born in Canada and of Slovak descent. Why would the United States be in there? Tavix (talk) 00:39, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Because he plays for the US national team and has american citizenship, not Slovak. -Djsasso (talk) 03:14, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
He definitely is a citizen of the Slovak Republic. 212.197.3.12 (talk) 13:19, 22 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yan was born in Canada, but played for the United States, so I think it is logical to show his nationality as Canadian-American with United States listed first. In the lead section, it is noted that he is of Slovakian descent. --Pgp688 (talk) 09:17, 24 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
