21st century[edit]

An enthusiastic resident or the local chamber of commerce seems to have written the "recent history" section. I was able to translate most of it into English, although some of the claims still need to be supported with English or (if needs be) Chinese sources.

One of the region's largest districts, 15.5 kilometers of the Changbai Gold-Bin River runs through the economically strong center.

I have no idea what this is talking about. Changbai New Village Subdistrict? The Qiu River? Jin-something? — LlywelynII 05:30, 15 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Updated with some Chinese sources. There seems to have been some error when translating "the bank of Huangpu River", where in Chinese it was described as "golden" river bank area. Zowtow (talk) 06:33, 3 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

But such information should be put into a new section instead of in "History"? Zowtow (talk) 07:16, 3 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Added a new section of "Economy" and moved related info to the new section. Zowtow (talk) 12:45, 5 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Rivers[edit]

While we're on that, a short treatment of the remaining waterways in the district would be nice. (Talking about all of the older ones seems like overkill.) I know there's the old canal they dug out to shorten the bend in the Huangpu; there's the Yangshupu/Yangtzepoo Creek that gave the district its name; there's the Qiu "River" (Qiu/Jeu Jiang) north of that;... any others? Are they all canals? (If so, when were they created?) Are some natural? (If so, what are their sources and how are they doing?) — LlywelynII 05:30, 15 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
