Are his books available abroad?

"test the depth" makes no sense[edit]

Section Criticism: "test the depth of the Turbo C programming environment.". What does that mean? Why would students test the depth of a programming environment? I don't think it makes sense. --Mortense (talk) 18:26, 31 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect ISBN number[edit]

In Bibliography (of selected books): "ASP.NET Web Services (ISBN 978-1934015254)". The ISBN number, 978-1934015254, is incorrect. It is for "Let Us C" (see, for example, http://www.amazon.com/Let-Us-Eighth-Computer-Science/dp/1934015253). --Mortense (talk) 19:05, 31 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Controversy[edit]

It's worth knowing that Kanetkar's book Let Us C (well known among Indian programming students) is notorious for, well, not being a good book! It is based around the ancient and obsolete Turbo C environment, which hasn't been correct standard C for decades, and the book also encourages the use of various hacky tricks that are undefined by the C specification, and misleadingly states that these have a deterministic outcome when in fact they do not (and needless to say should never be used in real-world code).
