Infobox
  • Only the first release should be included here
I've gone with the UK release, as this is a UK band and I believe the other Beatles album GAs / FAs do the same Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:07, 2 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • The audio sample would be better placed in a "composition" section, but in this case put it in the "background and recording" section since there isn't a "composition" section

Lead
  • "released in January 1969 on Apple Records"..... through Apple Records, and include the original release date here
I've actually removed Apple Records entirely, to be consistent with other articles. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:07, 2 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • "were intended for other projects but unreleased" → "were unreleased tracks from other projects"
Done. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont)
  • "The album had a mixed reception with critics, though Martin's orchestral work was generally praised"..... make note of what critics didn't like about the album
Done Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 09:53, 4 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Although not generally thought of as a significant release".... maybe major release would be better
Done Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 09:53, 4 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • "part of the canon of original Beatles LPs" → "one of the original Beatles LPs"
I think "canon" is better, because (particularly in the US) there were lots of "original" Beatles albums, culminating in Yesterday and Today, which are now generally regarded at "separate". Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:07, 2 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Understood SNUGGUMS (talk · contribs) 10:57, 2 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Remove "nevertheless" from "It nevertheless managed"
Done (also removed "managed" while I was there) Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:07, 2 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Background and recording
  • "but on this occasion the session was not at Abbey Road, but at De Lane Lea Studios"..... too lengthy, try "but the session was at De Lane Lea Studios instead of Abbey Road"
Done (or something similar) Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 09:53, 4 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • "The original take ran to over 8 minutes"..... for over 8 minutes
Done Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 09:53, 4 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • "the Merseys' 1966 hit 'Sorrow'"..... WP:PEACOCK, just use song
Done (although one week at #75 is a "hit" technically so it's only a little peacocky) Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:07, 2 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Release
  • "while the British album"..... English album, let's be more specific here
I really don't think that's a good idea, I don't mind English in geography articles when it's talking about something specific, but I don't have evidence that the album wasn't released to shops in Glasgow, Cardiff or Belfast. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:07, 2 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
In that case, I went with "US" and "UK" within the article Snuggums (talk / edits) 10:57, 2 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • "The mono LP does not include the true mono mix of "Only a Northern Song" and instead includes a fold-down of the fake stereo version that appeared on the stereo LP"..... I'd remove "fake" as it seems to give a negative connotation to the stereo edition, and replace "true" with "official"
Done Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:07, 2 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • "though the British jacket"..... since "US" is used later in the sentence, let's use UK jacket here.
  • Is "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" referring to the song or album? If album, this should be italicized
It's neither, it's a fictional entity. I've swapped things around a bit to make sense. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:07, 2 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • The A.V. Club should not be italicized in ref#35 as it is not a print source
It is a news source (or at least is using {{cite news}} so I believe the work / newspaper field is automatically italicised. What can we do about this? Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:07, 2 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
"work/newspaper" field italicizes works, "publisher" field does not Snuggums (talk / edits) 10:57, 2 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Ah right, was looking at the wrong thing. Should be fixed now. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 09:53, 4 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
External links
  • "norwegianwood.org" isn't a reliable source and should be removed
Hmmm. The usual problem I have with "x isn't a reliable source" is that I feel that it's claims that require sources, not articles. So, with that in mind, can you point to specific facts in the norwegianwood.org site that you find questionable, misleading or wrong? Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:07, 2 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
You mentioned in the GAN for The White Album that it wasn't high quality, that's what lead to me saying this here Snuggums (talk / edits) 10:57, 2 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I've replaced it with the official website page. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 09:53, 4 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
