How does this relate to the page Portrait of Yutog Yontan Gonpo? And is it the same person as Yutog Yontan Gonpo, who is also cited as having written the Four Medical Tantras in the Medicine section of the page Tibetan people? Thegruecrue (talk) 16:19, 23 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

So the page you listed is a misattribution. The portrait is actually for Yuthok Yontan Gompo the Younger rather than the Elder as pointed out by the years listed. The Elder is occassionally sited as the author as a family tradition however, the practices weren't taught publically until Yuthok the younger 13 generations later. There is some indication that the attribution to the Elder is probably in an effort to give the text some longevity. However, it is widely understood that the text went through a major revision with the Younger and he is generally listed as the author. Lastly, the text and picture listed in that link are a direct copy of a copywrited material on the Himalayan Art website.
