As long time user of Zenworks I find this a fairly short, factual description of the product. There are number of similar products, Altiris, LanDesk. Microsoft with SMS and related tools provides similar functionality.

Please keep this article fact-based and neutral, like an encyclopedia should be. It's not a replacement for a news site or blog. I had to remove an advertisement for Windows Vista from the opening summary, when that information should be contained down below in the compatible OS section and was not appropriate for the summary.Yfrwlf (talk) 08:05, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

for managing "server lifecycles"?[edit]

I think the initial paragraph needs rephrasing as it doesn't explain what "manage the entire life cycle of servers, of desktop PCs, of laptops, and of handheld devices" means and linking to life cycle doesn't help. I can't rewrite this as I have no idea what the article is referring to in this sentence. Also I don't think the word "of" needs to be repeated so many times in that sentence, although it's not really incorrect to do so as far as I know.--KX36 (talk) 08:16, 14 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 13 July 2017[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: page moved. While the rationale is invalid and I'm suspicious there may be a COI, the move is to a more concise title that has always redirected to this article and appears unambiguous, so at the risk of me being seen as casting a supervote let us move on. Removed sections[edit]

Huge parts of the article were removed for being written in an unencyclopedic tone, being mostly unsourced or too much of a personal reflection on the history.[1][2] However, the removed bits also contained a lot of potentially good or at least interesting information on the early history of the product and its features which might make it back into the article if they would be rewritten for being more neutral in tone and hopefully with references added. Personally, I would not mind individuals and more details being mentioned if they were significant in the development of the product, when the information can at least partially be sourced somewhere. What I would also like to see is that the contents would be put into context in time, that is, which features were available when, what other products Novell had at the same time, and what third-party products addressed similiar needs in the market at that time. E.g. in 1993, when, apparently, the work on what would become Novell Application Launcher began, Novell had NetWare 4.0 and was also about to release Novell DOS 7 and Personal NetWare 1.0. I also remember Symantec's "Norton Administrator for Networks 1.0" was released in late 1993. --Matthiaspaul (talk) 15:11, 29 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
