Having been asked to clarify, it is impossible to provide evidence that someone did not exist. However, there is no historical document that names any lord of Biscay from before the 10th century - anything before that IS made up. THere are only a handful of known people from the entire region in the generation Zeno is supposed to inhabit: a Velasco 'the Gascon', Garcia Loup, a kinsman of the king of Asturias, Sancho, the premier warrior of the realm, Saltun, leader of the pagans, (there was also a Muhammad ibn Musa who was assassinated in Pamplona about this time). As to Inigo Arista, there are only three reliable documents, and none of them name his wife. Genealogy in the 17th century was inherently unreliable - they made things up to fit their needs, and one of those needs was to force 'history' back to before there was any documentation. Anyone who thinks he existed should provide a reliable source, which in this case means one that is not from Shakespeare's time. 50.37.101.176 (talk) 02:08, 11 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
