External links[edit]

I'm concerned about the quality of the external links.

  • I removed http://www.spandex-party.com "Community site for zentai fetishists" partly because it seems to be more of a general spandex gallery site than a zentai-specific discussion site, partly because it was WP:EL not tasteful.

AndyELycra's discussion board is associated with his shop, but the commercial activity is limited.

This seems like a useful resource.

Marcy Anarchy is generally recognised to be one of the pioneers of Zentai and her inclusion seems appropriate: even though it's effectively a gallery link, Zentai is a visual form.

This is an active non-profit board, and seems like a useful resource for this minority interest (see above).

  • Zentai Doll - Blog of a zentai lifestyler (French language)

I'm not sure how useful this is - for non-French speakers, it's essentially a gallery link.

This is a Zentai-specific directory, but eight links seems too trivial for it really to qualify as a directory. I'd change this link to http://www.closetmonster.net/links.html's zentai (lycra) section, if that were a separate page, since that has more zentai than this directory. —Preceding unsigned comment added by SleekWeasel (talkcontribs)

Image[edit]

I removed the image of the "woman in a zentai during a performance", as the woman was clearly not wearing a zentai. The suit in this picture is actually a catsuit, as it does not cover the head or face. The replacement image is clearly a zentai suit. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Andyelycra (talkcontribs)

Works for me. However, the new image on there has its own issues, which I discuss at User talk:Andyelycra. SchuminWeb (Talk) 18:46, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Men Who Love Lycra[edit]

Here is an article [Men Who Love Lycra] (written March 3, 2010 2:57pm) that may be of interest to someone looking to expand this article. I cannot work on it myself at this time but I thought I would leave it here in case someone may find in interesting. ~ Vince Navarro(t/c) 18:21, 6 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Good article + Reliable source = SOLID! Great work! I'll put it in a further reading section until we can incorporate it. SchuminWeb (Talk) 21:04, 6 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Could this also be helpful for Spandex fetishism article? It desperately needs some sources. --Qsaw (talk) 10:21, 7 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You might want to bring that up at Talk:Spandex fetishism. That would be the best venue for that discussion, since I for one am unfamiliar with that article. SchuminWeb (Talk) 01:03, 9 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Brand names[edit]

I removed two brand names from the content as these seem to fall into the same frowned upon criteria as the posting of various external links (see rest of this discussion). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Emma259 (talkcontribs) 18:32, 20 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Forum links[edit]

I can certainly understand the removal of the Suya-Zentai dead link, but www.ZentaiForum.com - not my site - is now the only forum I know of dedicated to discussing Zentai, and for a hobby which seems to be largely underground it appeared entirely appropriate to provide a reference to somewhere folks could discuss the topic and find out more.

The 'external links' page to which you link says clearly of forums "looking at the Wikipedia guidelines, I don't see anything saying they aren't allowed." The preceeding "I have often removed (such links) because they were just comments and messages" doesn't seem entirely relevant here - ZentaiForum is quite consistently on topic, and if the crowd from Suya-Zentai move over (as they have started to do) then Zentai Forum will become every bit as rich as Suya was.SleekWeasel 02:00, 3 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Update (27/07/2010) Does anyone have any view on the adding a link to the forum www.ayus-zentai.com? It seems to be the only remaining Zentai forum of a reasonable size and active user base. Emma259 (talk) 20:17, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

WP:ELNO says discussion forums should be avoided. Thus we cannot have a link to Ayus Zentai. Sorry. SchuminWeb (Talk) 01:05, 28 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Emma259- Yes, I have a view concerning adding a link to www.ayus-zentai. It has become the most encyclopedic site containing every kind of information on zentai, yes it has a lot of idle chatter, but it also has a wealth of information on the history of zentai, zentai materials, design- it's exactly the kind of resource the person seeking to understand the subject needs to be able to find. I'm a bit of a newbie, and tried adding a link twice, only to receive a rather abrupt, in fact somewhat rude, message from SchuminWeb that I think may be automated. With a bit more exploration I found that the ayus-zentai site seems to be monitored by something called Twinkle that flags and/or autodeletes specific items. Ummm . . . SchuminWeb, concerning this: " :WP:ELNO says discussion forums should be avoided. Thus we cannot have a link to Ayus Zentai." I'm going to assume that you are just a bit short on time, hence the somewhat dismissive talk page response, but would be open to to discussing this in depth. The reference guideline is about External Links Normally to be avoided. Yes, the ELNO page says that one should normally avoid links to "chat or discussion forums/groups (such as Yahoo! Groups), Twitter feeds, Usenet newsgroups or e-mail lists", but I think that Ayus-Zentai needs to be one of the non-normal exceptions. Ellogo (talk) 07:28, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ellogo raises some good points regarding the information available on that site. From reading through WP's guidelines, it does say that under normal circumstances that a forum link ought to be avoided, rather than categorically not allowed. Perhaps linking directly to the forum is maybe not the best, but a link to the FAQ section hosted by that site should be considered. Views?Emma259 (talk) 14:41, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Emma259- yes, the link to the FAQ seems like the perfect solution. Thank you for suggesting it.Ellogo (talk) 04:50, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Again with WP:ELNO, this time criterion 11. This is not a recognized authority. SchuminWeb (Talk) 15:44, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm - there seems to be some double standards over what is deemed to be acceptable links in terms of this particular article/subject. The zentai project nor zentai faq are as much recognised authorities as the above mentioned suggestion with the exception that Ayus Zentai is run by an organised group of moderators. SchuminWeb - I would be interested in your opinion on this... Emma259 (talk) 18:53, 2 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"Mainstream"[edit]

The article currently has two sections talking about how it's becoming more mainstream, but no sections addressing this mysterious non-mainstream existence it once had. 207.161.192.107 (talk) 04:24, 22 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
