"Community Site" Spam[edit]

The link to zephyrhills.org was removed as the site at that URI is "under construction." I appreciate the posters interest in publicizing their new website, but until the site has been both created and is actually recognized as a community site (by the community), the link should not be part of the article. The link to zephyrhills.org has been removed again. User 209.26.235.183, links to your under construction "community" sites are not welcome here, or on the dozen or so other pages you've spammed. GreggHilferding 18:41, 20 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dear ZL media or what ever please leave this page to people who know anything about Zephyrhills, primarily citizens of this City. Since you undid extensive editing by well know members of the community like Gregg H., and Tommy D. Gregg is a business owner im the small town who employs most of the city. Tommy is an active youth creating various city wide activities to raise money for various non profit organizations. So please get your nose out of our towns business since most of the editing was done by well known members of the community, who are stunning examples of the spirit of Zephyrhills. Ps you removed all of the city council personal off the community leader part which i find very funny since I speak to the City Manager almost weekly and attend all the City Council meeting.

origin of name[edit]

what a strange name for a city? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.22.30.44 (talk) 05:27, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes it is. There's not much info here, and that's a good place for someone who knows to start. 72.86.42.38 (talk) 21:53, 19 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I was expecting this to be part of the article as well.... here is what the chamber of commerce site (http://www.zephyrhillschamber.org/History.cfm) says on the topic.

In 1910 the town's name was formally changed to Zephyrhills when Howard Jeffries, a retired Union Army captain, established a retirement community for other veterans called the Zephyrhills Colony Company. It's said that the name was derived from the warm breezes, zephyrs, which blew across the rolling hills. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.199.103.72 (talk) 18:57, 11 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Notable People addition[edit]

I think it is incorrect to place the sentence "Winner of $590 Million in the largest ever Powerball jackpot (not yet identified)." in the 'Notable People' column. This was not the largest ever Powerball jackpot. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.157.145.111 (talk) 23:04, 19 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The jackpot winner is not a notable person, unless they have a Wikipedia article on them, and we are also unsure if the winner is from Zephyrhills. For all we know, it could have been bought by a non-Zephyrhills resident. --ZLMedia 08:52, 20 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
With all the arguing over who's notable and who isn't, I just found a link to Peta Jensen, mostly porn sites. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 01:25, 1 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
