Hyphens

I’m Jeremy, part of the corporate communications team at Ziff Davis, Inc. (Nasdaq: ZD).

J2 Global, Inc. was renamed Ziff Davis, Inc. on Oct. 8 [see company announcement here; Wall Street Journal article here].

As a result, the Ziff Davis Wikipedia article page currently contains outdated information, so I’d like to begin contributing to the page to make it accurate in light of recent events.

It’s Jeremy from Ziff Davis. We have a minor clarification we’d like to request for the first sentence of the Lead Section, detailed below.

Lead Section:

Propose omitting “holding,” since Ziff Davis is a full, not partial, owner of its businesses, and adding the NASDAQ descriptor before the stock symbol so the first sentence reads: “Ziff Davis, Inc., known as Ziff Davis (NASDAQ: ZD), is an American internet and digital media company.”

Hi Jeremy, sounds good to remove holding, and I will go ahead and make that change. Does the opening sentence even need the "(ZD)"? It's not an abbreviation used elsewhere in the article. I don't think it's typical to have the NASDAQ abbreviation in the opening sentence (but I may be wrong-- please link to other example articles if that's something you've seen), and it's on the second line of the infobox so it's still pretty prominent. A business profile on Yahoo Finance generally is an auto-generated and/or self-published database (similar to those on Bloomberg, Google, Hoover's, etc.), rather than a truly independent secondary source (e.g. a news article on Yahoo Finance). Additionally, when formatting references in requests, it makes it easier for reviewers to implement the edit when you use templates (such as Template:Cite_news#Usage). Hi JeremyJonesZiffDavis, do you have any alternative sources besides the Form 10-K (which I presume is self-prepared by Ziff Davis, not a neutral, reliable third party source?). Additionally, I would recommend using the template {{cite news}} inside of your reference to include additional reference information such as author, title of article, date of publication, etc. Lastly, what specifically is meant by "connectivity services". Does this refer to internet connectivity or something else? A wikilink to another article (possible ideas can be found at the disambiguation page Connectivity or Connection) would be useful.
