Re place of death[edit]

Gramophone has it that Kocsis died in Budapest, but gives no source. The various AP articles are bylined Budapest, but this may be the location of the orchestra which announced the news, not the place of death (am guessing that Gramophone mixed the two up, but ...?) At the moment I'd also agree this information is unclear and may have to be separately released (by family or others) at a later date fwiw...
