Template:Censorship-table/doc

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Usage[edit]

The Censorship-table template is used to build the table in the Censorship by country article. The table consists of a begin block, one or more row blocks (one for each country), and an end block. Also builds a key for the table.

Censorship-table row was the original name for the template before the use of the first positional parameter was added.

Key example[edit]

To produce a Key for a censorship by country table, use:

{{Censorship-table | key |version=2 }}

which produces the newer/current version of the Key:

Key
Freedom House (FH) Freedom of the Press report:[1] 10 is most free, 99 is least free
10 to 30 Free
31 to 60 Partly free
61 to 99 Not free

25.00 to 36.49 Noticeable problems
 36.50 to 55.29 Difficult situation

Parameters[edit]

Positional parameter[edit]

  • One positional parameter (required). Values:
    • key — builds a Key for the table
    • begin — required to start the table
    • row — adds a row for a country
    • end — required to end the table

Keyword parameters[edit]

  • No keyword parameters for begin or end.
  • For key there is one optional keyword parameter, version=2, which produces the newer/current version of the key.
  • For row all keyword parameters are optional except for region and one of country or alt:
Country, alternate name, and region[edit]
|country= country name
|alt= alternate country name
|region= { Europe | Asia | Eurasia | Oceania | NAmerica | SAmerica | Africa }

If country is present and alt is not, country is used as the label and to construct wikilink targets. If both country and alt are present, country is used as the label and alt is used to construct wikilink targets. If country is not present, alt must be present, no flag icon is displayed, and alt is used as the label and to construct wikilink targets.

Freedom House Freedom of the Press Rank, Rating, and Status[edit]
|FHPressRank=   n

    (key |version=2: newer/current)
|RWBPressStatus= { Very good | Good | Bad | Very bad }
    (key: older/original)

where for key | version=2: "Very good" = "Good situation" and "Problems" = "Noticeable problems".

|Clink=  wikilink target
|IClink= wikilink target
