Template:Cite Banglapedia/doc

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Usage[edit]

If the subject of the Wikipedia article is the same as the Banglapedia page, only ID number is required. The template then uses the Wikipedia article name as the anchor text.

  • {{Cite Banglapedia|article=ARTICLE'S NAME|author=AUTHOR}}

Instructions and examples[edit]

  1. Go to en.banglapedia.org and search for the article/subject you want (say, Bangladesh; you'll reach http://en.banglapedia.org/index.php?title=Bangladesh). This can also be done on the Wikipedia page by previewing {{Banglapedia}} and clicking that link ( http://en.banglapedia.org/index.php?search=Bangladesh&fulltext=Search ).
  2. Click on the correct name in the list (for Bangladesh, this will bring up the page http://en.banglapedia.org/index.php?title=Bangladesh)
  3. Copy only the article's title after "title=".
  4. Replace "ARTICLE'S NAME" and "AUTHOR" in the template code
    1. For the option above, you'll then have
      * {{Cite Banglapedia |article=Bangladesh |author=AM Chowdhury}} resulting in:
      • AM Chowdhury (2012). "Bangladesh". In Islam, Sirajul; Miah, Sajahan; Khanam, Mahfuza; Ahmed, Sabbir (eds.). Banglapedia: the National Encyclopedia of Bangladesh (Online ed.).
