5x expanded by Cielquiparle (talk). Self-nominated at 20:32, 6 December 2022 (UTC).

  • General eligibility:
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems

Hook eligibility:

  • Cited: Yes
  • Interesting: Yes
  • Other problems: Yes
QPQ: Done.

Overall: Not quite new enough, but extension by one day requested, which seems fair enough. Apart from that, no problems and ready to go. Moonraker (talk) 07:58, 7 December 2022 (UTC)

  • The source doesn't actually say what the hook says. The source says an occasional call for 'Do I want to subscribe to a particular magazine, buy an insurance policy' or some other such ridiculous thing -- RoySmith (talk) 18:38, 7 December 2022 (UTC)
    • And, that statement wasn't made during the hearing, but to reporters after the hearing. -- RoySmith (talk) 18:40, 7 December 2022 (UTC)
      • Here is the statement from the lede New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg complained to a U.S. Senate committee on Tuesday that he's vexed by pesky dinner-time phone calls from salesmen — ringing him on his secure “bat phone” line...Bloomberg mentioned his secure phone and the insurance sales people who regularly call him on it....THEN, Following the hearing.... Anyway here are some alternatives:
ALT0a: ... that New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg said the only calls on his bat phone were from salespeople offering magazine subscriptions or insurance policies?
ALT0b: ... that New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg told a U.S. Senate Committee that he was annoyed by calls from insurance salespeople on his bat phone? Cielquiparle (talk) 20:41, 7 December 2022 (UTC)
  • Thanks for the clarification. ALT0a sounds the best. -- RoySmith (talk) 01:49, 8 December 2022 (UTC)
