Cathedral Basilica of the Holy Family[edit]

Holy Family Basilica
Holy Family Basilica

Expanded by Victuallers (talk). Self-nominated at 15:52, 29 October 2015 (UTC).

  • Date and five fold expansion verified. QPQ is done. No close paraphrasing found and all wikipedia policies appear to have been followed. Article is well written and properly sourced with inline citations. Both hooks are verified to online references and may be promoted. Nice work!4meter4 (talk) 07:10, 27 November 2015 (UTC)
  • I'm sorry, but can't promote either of these hooks because they just don't read right. I'm not entirely sure what's being said, and the wording in the article doesn't match what I'm interpreting the hooks to say. Please let me know what you think about these alternative hooks:
ALT2: ... that the Cathedral Basilica of the Holy Family (pictured), which is now the seat of the Archdiocese of Nairobi, was built in 1904 for railway construction workers?
ALT3: ... that when the original Cathedral Basilica of the Holy Family (new building pictured) was built in 1904, it was the first stone building in Nairobi, Kenya?

  • There is nothing in the article that mentions a construction date (unless I'm completely missing it). A shorter alternative:
ALT4: ... that the Cathedral Basilica of the Holy Family (pictured) replaced a church that was the first stone building in Nairobi?

That one's fine. The Squirrel Conspiracy (talk) 19:05, 29 November 2015 (UTC)
@Gaia Octavia Agrippa: You did completely miss it:-) The date of 1904 is mentioned in ... the second sentence. So I think we have created another hook for little benefit. However if @The Squirrel Conspiracy: is happy with ALT4 then can we add the tick hook based on @4meter4:'s approval above and move on from where we have arrived? Victuallers (talk) 23:07, 2 December 2015 (UTC)
I wasn't sure if that sentence was referring to a build year or the year that Brother Josaphat was asked to build it! Whichever, I think this DYK has hung around for long enough. Gaia Octavia Agrippa Talk 23:36, 2 December 2015 (UTC)
I don't care which hook is used as long as it's within DYK policy and easy to understand. Any of ALT 2, 3, or 4 are fine with me. The Squirrel Conspiracy (talk) 23:39, 2 December 2015 (UTC)
