David Chodounsky[edit]

Created by Caponer (talk). Self nominated at 02:24, 10 February 2014 (UTC).

  • Chodounsky is scheduled to compete on February 19 and 22. Either of those dates are acceptable for inclusion of this article in DYK. Note that I am open to suggested hook alternatives. -- Caponer (talk) 01:46, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
  • New enough, long enough, well-referenced, no close paraphrasing seen. QPQ done. However, the hook could be more hooky. How about something about his being the only college graduate on the US Olympic team? Yoninah (talk) 10:09, 13 February 2014 (UTC)
Yoninah, thank you for your review, and for your suggestion! The wording of the above hook is more true to the source, as Chodounsky was the only United States Ski Team member to earn his college degree at the time of his selection in 2009. He was not actually a member of the U.S. Olympic Alpine Ski Team until his selection in January 2014. Let me know if the above wording works! It looks a bit long, but is only 194 characters in length. Thanks again! -- Caponer (talk) 16:23, 13 February 2014 (UTC)
  • ALT1 hook ref verified and cited inline. I would just suggest making it shorter and snappier:
  • ALT2: ... that alpine skier David Chodounsky was the only player to make the U.S. Ski Team after earning his college degree? Yoninah (talk) 18:32, 13 February 2014 (UTC)
  • Yoninah, this works for me! Thank you for the succinct suggestion! -- Caponer (talk) 19:05, 13 February 2014 (UTC)
  • As I just shortened the nominator's alt, I'm going ahead and approving this hook. ALT2 ref verified and cited inline. Good to go. Yoninah (talk) 19:42, 13 February 2014 (UTC)
