  • This is my first DYK nomination and as such, I would appreciate all input and any ideas about the hook. Thanks.
  • Fascinating article. I see that it's up for GA, as well it should be. The hook comes out at 203 characters by my count, and the repetition of "over x-thousand" seems a bit klunky. I think this is one of those counterintuitive cases where less information actually has more impact, and would suggest shortening the hook to:
ALT1 ... that Douglas W. Owsley (pictured) of the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Natural History has overseen the forensic examination of over 10,000 human remains?
or even:
ALT2 ... that Douglas W. Owsley (pictured) of the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History has overseen the forensic examination of over 10,000 human remains?
Length, sources, history, and references all check out. Hook citations accepted in good faith. Really good reading, thank you. - PKM (talk) 03:29, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
  • The characters went over when someone added (pictured). That said, I like both alternate versions better. Either one works for me. I'm welcome to leave it to your discretion. Thanks for the feedback! Best regards, Cind.amuse (Cindy) 03:50, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
We usually don't count "(pictured)". --PFHLai (talk) 13:10, 19 February 2012 (UTC)
