Ernst Roth[edit]
- ... that Ernst Roth, general manager of Boosey & Hawkes, published four late songs by Richard Strauss in 1950 after the composer's death, naming them Four Last Songs?
- Reviewed: S. N. Cooke
- Comment: The fact is especially surprising as Strauss stayed in Germany during the Nazi regime while Jewish Roth had to emigrate from Vienna in 1938, but it's too much for 200 chars.

Date (created from a redirect), length OK. Hook OK and interesting (certainly to me). Hook confirmed by offline sources (Michael Kennedy is certainly authoritative), so AGF. Article well referenced. But one small error; Huyton is in Merseyside, not on the Isle of Man. Nikolaus Pevsner was also interned there - it must have been an interesting place! --Peter I.
