Fredericksburg Dog Mart[edit]

Created/expanded by Wikipelli (talk). Self nom at 16:15, 10 June 2012 (UTC)

  • The length and date of the article look good. However, as far as I can see, only one of the four citations at the end of the lead verifies that it is the oldest dog mart in the US. I'm not way comfortable approving the verifiability of this claim without a better source (as The Virginia Handbook just mentions it briefly in passing). Could you provide another secondary source? • Also, the lead should summarize the article, and not contain new/different. information. Unlink United States in the hook. Ruby 2010/2013 02:46, 14 June 2012 (UTC)
  • I've unlinked United States and added some refs and also added content re: oldest dog show at the end of the article. I will try to get to the library tomorrow to see if I can find the National Geographic and/or Time articles as they would be the excellent sources if they state it. As it stands now, the "Virginia Handbook", "Stafford County Sun", & Izaak Walton Dog Mart History page (I know, that one's probably a bit self-serving) say it's the oldest; Ref #7: "Dog Mart Has Rich Tradition" says it's "..very likely .. " the oldest Wikipelli Talk 04:27, 14 June 2012 (UTC)
  • I think those sources now provide enough verification. Article looks good to go. Ruby 2010/2013 19:42, 14 June 2012 (UTC)
