Improved to Good Article status by Sturmvogel 66 (talk). Nominated by Onegreatjoke (talk) at 01:34, 10 June 2023 (UTC). Post-promotion hook changes for this nom will be logged at Template talk:Did you know nominations/French destroyer Fronde; consider watching this nomination, if it is successful, until the hook appears on the Main Page.

  • Promoted to GA status, so meets new criteria. Article long enough (6124 characters of prose). Hook short enough (120 characters). Earwig shows copyvio unlikely, highest match only 5.7% similarity. Hook is interesting enough, raises question as to why the French ship was in Hong Kong. Verifiable, conforms to policy, neutral. Hook is from a sentence in the article and is supported by citation to a reliable source for it found at hathitrust web site. Picture is from Wikimedia Commons, is shown as in public domain. QPR completed. Donner60 (talk) 01:34, 27 June 2023 (UTC)
    • @Onegreatjoke and Donner60: I'm not suuper comfortable with the sourcing here; it appears to be a primary source, and we're assuming that there's no source out there that ever found the five missing. Is there a post hoc secondary source that confirms that the search concluded in failure? theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (she/her) 22:44, 11 July 2023 (UTC)
