  • Meets all criteria, and I prefer the first hook. I did some small copyediting and added some references. Just a note, the subject is clearly notable, but it's not best to rely on so many citations that are nearly 100 years old when modern ones are abundant enough (see the two 21st century book references I added). The fact in the hook is verified and interesting, though. I am not sure about the image included. The portrait is definitely PD because it was published in a newspaper, but the photo suggested here and the video would probably be deleted off of Commons unless there is evidence of the author death date or publication date, though I am not nominating any of them myself as I haven't done research beyond the linked image source.
