  • The article is new enough and long enough. No major policy problems with the article; citations are present throughout. I have concerns about paraphrasing; for example, the cottages are described as "whimsical", which is how Nye describes them. That should probably be quoted directly. The second paragraph tracks very closely with Chafe, and Chafe itself is quoting a source. Nelson and Nye conflict on whether Wilma was involved in banking transactions for the cottages. Hook is interesting and verified in Nye and Redmon. QPQ is done. I think if the use of Nye is reviewed we're okay here. Mackensen (talk) 13:59, 11 October 2015 (UTC)
  • I have made several edits, but since Chafe only gives me a paragraph, all of it fairly critical information, and there are only so many ways you can say she graduated and worked here and here, I am limited on what I can do with the text. Am unclear what that last statement means, "if the use of Nye is reviewed" means what? Surely you cannot be saying that the historical landmarks commission has any close ties with a dead woman? Yes, Chafe is quoting Andree, Herb; Young, Noel Santa Barbara Architecture, from Spanish Colonial to Modern Capra Press, 1980. There was also a 2nd edition done in 1995. Neither are accessible on line and I do not live in the US. Nelson and Nye do not conflict. One says she did, the other says she may not have been involved. If she may not, she also may have been. My wording "occasionally Wilma may have provided banking services" contradicts neither source and the article is not about Wilma, so let's not get side tracked. Thanks for the review.   • My concern was simply that Nye was closely paraphrased in the text, even when not directly cited. I didn't mean to imply that Nye was an improper source. Thanks for the edits. Mackensen (talk) 15:48, 11 October 2015 (UTC)
