  • This article is new enough and long enough. It is neutral and free from copyright issues as far as I can see. The image of the monastery is in the public domain and I like ALT0, but having found page 177 of the cited source, I see that the pigs were not "sacred", but were kept to show respect for animal life. I thought of "revered", "respected" or "venerated" for the hook, but none of these seems quite right. You may be able to think of something better. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 09:38, 16 July 2016 (UTC)
Thank you for the review and hope it was an interesting topic. That said, the first OED definition of "sacred" apart from the exclusively Christian senses is "dedicated, set apart, exclusively appropriated to some person or some special purpose" which fits these pigs just fine. Since that's true, I'm not going to emend it at all, but you're the reviewer—you're welcome to just nix the word (which might make it more compelling), review another hook, or (although this is probably impossible on the internet) realize you were mistaken in your initial impression. — LlywelynII 13:30, 17 July 2016 (UTC)
  • OK then, I can see that the definition of "sacred" is a bit wider than I had thought, so this is ready to go with ALT0 and I will strike the other hooks. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 17:39, 17 July 2016 (UTC)
