... that despite the cornerstone being laid in 1852, the Church of the Holy Trinity in Nashville, Tennessee, was not consecrated until thirty-six years later, in 1888?

ALT1:... that the ornately carved wooden altar of the Church of the Holy Trinity in Nashville, Tennessee, which features the Christogram "IHS" surronded by a crown of thorns, was originally discarded by a church in New York City before being rescued and transferred to Nashville in 1935 by one of its members?

This is a fivefold expansion (apart from a copyright blip) and is new enough and long enough. The image is appropriately licensed and the original hook sourced. The other hooks I have struck as they are well over the 200 word limit (you could have had a hook about the church having been used as an arsenal).
