Iftah Ya Simsim[edit]

5x expanded by Figureskatingfan (talk). Self nominated at 04:45, 13 July 2014 (UTC).

I'd recommend a bit more mystery:

Very nice alt hook. Cbl62 (talk) 02:08, 14 July 2014 (UTC)
So you see, I'm not such a bad guy after all. EEng (talk) 02:17, 14 July 2014 (UTC)

Expanded enough, expansion new enough, neutral, no copyvio or plagiarism on the sources I could check, scrapes past on close paraphrasing, QPQ done. ALT1 hook is 11 out of 10 hooky (even though the source hedges a little, I don't think we need to implode DYK when it gets to prep because it doesn't have "reportedly" or "it is said" or "maybe" or "Gillian who works with my brother's girlfriend at the supermarket heard from her mate's sister's friend that the guy who works at the garage knows a man who heard that..."). EEng is a bad guy BTW, don't be fooled by one free hooky hook, he's probably stealing your purse and your kid's ice cream while you are admiring it. Belle (talk) 14:23, 14 July 2014 (UTC)

But it's so cool! ;) Seriously, though, it was reported in a major news source, so it should be okay to include for DYK and for the article in general. If we wanted the alt to be more hooky, how about:
I believe you about EEng, BTW; I betcha he knows where the Muppets were taken! ;) Christine (Figureskatingfan) (talk) 20:48, 14 July 2014 (UTC)
I just read some of Belle's talk page, and have realized that she has a particular sort of humor that has gone straight over my head. I appreciate the hit over the head, really I do. I really should take my own advice, as depicted near the second image on my own talk page. Keep rollin'! Christine (Figureskatingfan) (talk) 22:06, 14 July 2014 (UTC)
If you mention the set, you clue people in to what really happened. If by just saying "the storming of [unintelligible foreign name] they'll think it's an army base or something. EEng (talk) 22:32, 14 July 2014 (UTC) P.S. Too bad they didn't have a Fred Rogers doll on the set. Then we could say "Mr. Rogers was taken prisoner..."
