Imyremeshaw[edit]

5x expanded by Iry-Hor (talk). Self nominated at 16:25, 21 August 2013 (UTC).

  • Length and date verified; no sign of copyright infringement, etc. I looked at the Petrie source online, but I couldn't connect any of what it says in the area of page 220 with the corresponding text in the article. Maybe it's a difference in pagination between a copy of the book you used and the one that's scanned in online? If so, I'd prefer that the page number in the reference be changed to match the online version, to make verification easier. I haven't seen the other sources, but they look like solid sources discussing very typical Egyptological stuff.
My other suggestion would be to change the hook to say "colossal statues of Imyremeshaw". It makes it a little clearer what the hook is talking about and may make it a little more interesting-sounding. If these two small issues are taken care of, I'll pass the DYK.
(I also made a few changes to the article text, to lessen repetition and to fit better with English idiom and punctuation conventions. Hope you don't mind. Feels free to change back anything you seriously disagree with.) A. Parrot (talk) 01:16, 24 August 2013 (UTC)

For the book online by Petrie, it is my mistake ! The pages are actually 209-210 (if you download the pdf), p. 220 being the seal of Merhotepre Ini which I used to illustrate the article for this pharaoh. On p. 209 Petrie mentions the usurpation of the statues by Apepi and describes the statues in question, p. 210 has the photo of one statue during Petrie's excavations. For the usurpation by Ramses II as well as that by Apepi and their accompanying inscriptions, they are described in Ryholt's book. The relevant passage can be seen online on p. 133 here. Finally, the location of the inscriptions on the statues is given in Darell Baker's book. I am happy to change the hook and thank you for your help on this article. I hope this clarifies the points your raised. Iry-Hor (talk) 18:54, 24 August 2013 (UTC)
  • Everything verified. The second hook looks good to go. A. Parrot (talk) 17:11, 24 August 2013 (UTC)
